The challenge
Identifying mineable minerals
A lack of timely and accurate information about the character or make-up of mineral materials can be a barrier to cost-effective resource discovery, management and processing.
Where drill hole samples are sent off to a lab for manual characterisation and analysis, exploration can be a costly and time consuming exercise.
Where samples or mined ore cannot be cost-effectively characterised in situ or at key phases of the exploration or processing, the productivity and viability of the operations can be affected.
The challenge is to provide new tools, technologies and systems for enabling rapid and accurate characterisation in situ or at key moments and places in the minerals value chain.
Our response
Fast and accurate mineral characterisation
Our teams have developed tools and solutions to rapidly characterise mineral resources for exploration and optimal resource management and processing.
We have a proven track record of innovation in mineral, elemental and geochemical characterisation and instruments through to developing the systems, communication technologies and data platforms that enable resources to be characterised in situ or at wide scale.
This innovation draws on key expertise across geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, and the analytical instruments, technologies, data platforms and optimisation tools. Our successes are achieved through working closely with industry and research partners.
