Our Stage 3 Summary Report and final Stage 3 reports below provide an update on the progress of Australia’s Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) Roadmap which was launched in 2022.
Development of the Roadmap represented Stage 1 work which outlined a research path across nine key topics on preparing a power system that provides secure and reliable operation during the energy transition to a decarbonised global electrical grid with high penetration of renewables.
The Stage 3 reports contain summaries for each of the appointed research topics to:
- clearly describe progress in the research topic to the end of 2023/2024.
- map this current research within the overall Roadmap for each G-PST research topic.
- propose future work for the next round of research scheduled for Stage 4 in Financial Year 2024/25.
These Stage 3 reports will be used to:
- explore opportunities to secure additional funding for expansion of the G-PST work into Southeast Asian countries.
- expand research in distributed energy resource (DER) integration as its importance is increasingly internationally recognised.
