Important information
The National AI Centre (NAIC) is transitioning from CSIRO to the Department of Industry, Science, and Resources (DISR) on 1st July 2024. You can find the latest NAIC content at industry.gov.au. For any NAIC-related questions, please email NAIC@industry.gov.au.
Founded at the very beginning of the 20th century, BSI was the world’s first National Standards Body (NSB). We help solve AI challenges by accelerating trustworthy, transparent and responsible AI by way of standardization.
As a UK National Standards Body our work on artificial intelligence (AI) standards is primarily internationally focused. Our national committee ART/1 brings together a diverse range of stakeholders to feed UK views into the international work program which is developed through ISO/IEC/JTC 1/SC 42 Artificial Intelligence, the international AI Committee and CEN-CENELEC/JTC 21 Artificial Intelligence.
The current program carried out under ISO/IEC/JTC 1/SC 42 is a mix of foundational standards, technical standards and business standards. Of main interest to the market are the standards in development around risk, safety, bias, governance and the recently approved management system. In addition to development of standards, regulatory services division of BSI is currently working towards designation as an AI notified body to deliver product certifications. The AI notified body will focus on certification of high-risk AI products that require notified body oversight.
We also offer range of AI focused training and assurance services against the internationally recognized standards.
