About the placement

This internship is with BTF, a bioMérieux company and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

BTF provides the world's most precise quantitative reference standards for microbiological testing. Its patented BioBall™ technology is used in quality assurance, to verify the performance of control methods. The company is also a recognised expert in water control solutions.

The BioBall process which manufactures certified reference materials for the pharmaceutical and food industries worldwide is undergoing a re-design to update the process. The re-designed process requires significant validation and verification plans prior to implementation. As an intern with BTF, you will support the team and contribute to improving efficiencies the validation program, requiring new stability testing regimes to be explored. This project will be involved in testing new accelerated stability testing regimes, determining the shelf-life sensitivity of different microbial strains and to analyse the resulting data.
