About the placement
This internship is with Energy Serve, a Level 3 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) specializing in designing overhead and underground powerlines/networks and providing Electrical Engineering consultation. You will be involved in various design projects, possibly including field surveying with RTK GPS gear, drafting plans for submission to Essential Energy for Certification, preliminary training in powerline design aspects aspects as well as familiarisation with Australian Standards and Essential Energy Standards.
The placement is in Dubbo NSW, where you will be working directly with multiple senior consultants who are experts in the industry.
Work arrangements
- Start date: Flexible – ASAP or over the university break
- Working arrangement: Part time or full time depending on availability
- Remuneration: $ 30.13 p/hour + Super on a casual contract with Energy Serve
- Location: 1 Johnson Street, Dubbo NSW 2830
Desired capabilities
- Studying a degree related to: Engineering (electrical or mechatronic preferred) however all engineering or surveying students encouraged to apply
- Experience with CAD drafting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills including written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Organised with an understanding of project management.
- An innovative mindset and sound understanding of customer preferences.
- Familiarisation with Essential Energy Standards an advantage
- Open minded to unexpected challenges and learning on the job
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
- Please note some field survey work may be required which may include some walking with GPS gear.
