This internship is with EM Energy and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a pioneering start-up that is turning waste into hydrogen without using heat, power, or bacteria. You will be part of a dynamic, early-stage company adapting to evolving industry demands.
In this hands-on role, your responsibilities will vary day-to-day. You’ll set up laboratory spaces and test rigs, run experiments, take measurements, and document results, giving you broad exposure to research and start-up environments.
Work arrangements
- Start date: Flexible Start date
- Working arrangement: Part-time (2-3 days per week) for 200 hours on a fixed term contract, with the possibility for further employment for the right candidate. The role includes a shutdown period over Christmas from early December to January.
- Remuneration: $25/hour plus super on a temporary contract with EM Energy
- Location: Mayfield North, NSW (Newcastle)
Desired capabilities
- Studying an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or other related discipline
- Experience running experiments within a lab environment, especially using wet chemistry and lab instrumentation would be desirable
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to document experimental results clearly.
- An interest in sustainable energy and green technologies.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate or TAFE qualification.
