About the placement

This internship is with RYAN TAX SERVICES AUSTRALIA PTY LIMITED and is facilitated by the CSIRO's Generation STEM Links program.

In this role, you will be part of a team where your science and communication skills will play a critical role in interpreting and translating scientific information predominately in the agriculture and poultry sector.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone with strong communication skills!

Your role will involve liaising with clients to understand and interpret research and development (R&D) activities and scientific information which relies on a good foundational knowledge of STEM. You will then be involved in translating this information into application forms for the R&D tax incentive as well as assisting with improvement to the client's own internal process of documenting R&D.

This internship offers the right student the chance to utilise their scientific, interpersonal and communication skills to delve into the intricacies of Innovation Funding in Australia and gain insights into the world of Research and Development.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: Flexible start (Nov- Jan)
  • Working arrangement: 2-3 days per week on a fixed term Casual contract (minimum 200 hours).
  • Possibility for ongoing work for the right candidate.
  • Remuneration: $30.13/hour + super on a fixed term contract with RYAN TAX SERVICES
  • Location: Sydney CBD

Desired capabilities

  • Studying Agriculture, Food technology, Animal science or related Science qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Writing skills- Attention to detail in documentation and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear, coherent, and engaging manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Interest or basic knowledge of the wider Innovation Funding/Support Environment in Australia is highly regarded.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
