This internship is with Smart MCs and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

As an AI Intern specialising in Predictive Modelling of Biomaterials for Cell Culture, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with leading AI and Machine Learning scientists from the University of Sydney and Macquarie University.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement machine learning models capable of predicting cell growth and behaviour in response to a variety of biomaterials. This task will involve handling and analysing a vast database containing a wide range of input variables and measurable outputs, providing valuable insights into the interaction between cells and biomaterials.

This position offers a blend of theoretical research and practical application, providing a platform for you to develop and refine your skills in a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary environment. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to academic publications and present your findings at conferences, thereby establishing yourself in the scientific community.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: November, 2024
  • Working arrangement: Flexible Part time hours for 200 hours on a fixed term contract, with the possibility for further employment for the right candidate
  • Remuneration: $25/hour plus super on a temporary contract with Smart Mc’s
  • Location: Ultimo, NSW

  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate or TAFE qualification.
  • This is a confidential project and applicants will be required to sign non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and IP-Assignment deed with Smart MCs
