About the placement

This internship is with AES Environmental and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

As an intern, you will assist in the operation and development of air filter testing rigs, including the AS 1324 and ISO 16890 test rigs. Your work will involve collecting and analysing test data, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting modifications to improve test performance.

A key focus of this role is contributing to the NATA accreditation process, which includes documenting procedures, ensuring compliance with testing standards, and preparing reports. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in filtration technology, engineering testing, and quality assurance while developing valuable technical and analytical skills.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: March 2025
  • Working arrangement: Casual Contract (3, 6 and 12 months available) with the possibility for further employment for the right candidate. Flexible rostering according to student availability.
  • Remuneration: $30.13 per hour plus super on a temporary contract with AES Environmental
  • Location: Minto, NSW

Desired capabilities

  • Background or interest in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
  • Interest in filtration technology, compliance processes, and quality assurance.
  • Interest in Hands-on assembly, modification, or maintenance experience – working with mechanical components, sensors, or data collection devices.
  • Attention to detail – ensuring accuracy in data collection, compliance documentation, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate or TAFE qualification.
