The NSF Convergence Accelerator aims to accelerate use-inspired convergence research in areas of national importance to address societal challenges, and to initiate convergence team-building capacity around exploratory, potentially high-risk proposals addressing selected convergent research topics.
CSIRO has sponsored Australian participation in the NSF Convergence Accelerator for Track I: Sustainable Materials for Global Challenges, whose aim is to converge advances in fundamental materials science with materials design and manufacturing methods in an effort to couple their end-use and full life-cycle considerations for environmentally and economically sustainable materials and products. Phase I awards were announced in December 2022.
2022 funding cycle closed
Although the 2022 funding cycle is now closed, CSIRO encourages all researchers to explore the upcoming new opportunities available through Convergence Accelerator | NSF - National Science Foundation.
