Mr James Deverell
Managing Director, CSIRO Futures
James heads up the Futures team and has more than 20 years of consulting experience working with government and commercial clients across four continents in a diverse range of industries including energy, resources, financial services, manufacturing, and high-tech. He has worked with senior decision makers in some of Australia’s largest companies and government to develop evidence-based strategies for growth and has also overseen the development of major national roadmaps across hydrogen, space, and low emission technology.
Mr Vivek Srinivasan
Associate Director - Energy Futures lead
Vivek leads the energy portfolio, specialising in complex national and industry challenges and the role that science and technology can play in addressing them. He brings together 13-years of consulting experience to help solve the most pressing challenges facing business and government organisations. His work has spanned the development of disruptive scenarios to help address future opportunities and risks for a large oil and gas provider, to developing strategies for the emerging hydrogen industry.
Mr Greg Williams
Associate Director - Health and Biosecurity Futures lead
Greg leads the Health and Biosecurity portfolio and has led a range of multi-sector projects across health, infectious disease resilience, biosecurity, synthetic biology, and space. His work has focussed on identifying technology-enabled solutions to longstanding and complex sectoral challenges, including a broader consideration of the surrounding regulatory and policy environments that enable these changes. He has more than 10 years of consulting experience as well as holding a Masters in Biotechnology.
Dr Katherine Wynn
Lead Economist, Agriculture and Food Lead
Katherine leads the economics consultancy portfolio as well as the the agriculture and food portfolio, advising clients on the emerging trends and technologies shaping industries while designing responsive strategies for more informed investment decisions. Based on thorough research and extensive stakeholder consultation, she identifies technologies that are likely to have significant economic impact and quantifies this impact in terms of expected domestic and export revenue as well as potential environmental and other cost savings. She has more than 14 years of consulting experience as well as holding a PhD in Economics.
Mr Max Temminghoff
Associate Director - Mineral Resources Futures lead
Max is the Minerals lead at CSIRO Futures, with extensive experience collaborating with researchers and industry leaders in the Mining and Energy sectors. His work focuses on emerging technologies and developing strategies to drive their adoption. Max has led major national projects, particularly in hydrogen strategy and low-carbon liquid fuel opportunities. Currently, he is focused on critical minerals and green metals, exploring how Australia can unlock these resources and leverage its capabilities to become a key player in future global supply chains.
