Eligible NSW STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) businesses can now apply for student placements in 2022 through the Generation STEM Links program.
What is Generation STEM Links?
The Generation STEM Links program provides high-quality internships and workplace skills to help tertiary students transition into STEM jobs after graduation. The program also aims to build and strengthen connections between industry and tertiary education institutions. A $2,500 grant is payable to industry partners on completion of the student placement.
Who is eligible for the program?
- Generation STEM Links is open for NSW STEM businesses with more than 5 employees operating in a STEM field or with projects/activities that will benefit a STEM student. Businesses must also be based in one of the NSW location priority areas. Please check the eligibility and guidelines document for full details.
- NSW undergraduate or equivalent University or TAFE/VET STEM students in their penultimate to final year of undergraduate study are eligible to apply for the program placements.
How can NSW STEM businesses apply?

Generation STEM is made possible by a $25 million endowment from the NSW Government to the SIEF.
