CO2 Utilisation Roadmap: carbon capture and utilisation in Australia
CSIRO’s CO2 Utilisation Roadmap, through extensive national and international consultation, modelling and analysis, and with industry and government support, explores how Australia can scale-up CCU.
The Roadmap also aims to be the start of a broader conversation about CO2 capture and utilisation; to expand thinking, guide investment and communicate trade-offs between different CCU applications.

Opportunities for hydrogen in commercial aviation
In collaboration with Boeing, CSIRO has produced a report outlining a pathway for the adoption of hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels to support decarbonisation in commercial aviation.
The report takes a long-term view — identifying short, medium and long-term adoption opportunities to help the industry reduce emissions and prioritise sustainability as it recovers from the impacts of COVID-19.

Hydrogen Research, Development and Demonstration
CSIRO Futures, in collaboration with CSIRO Energy, embarked on a project to identify the opportunities and priorities for hydrogen research, development and demonstration (RD&D), to support a domestic and export hydrogen industry in Australia.
The report outlines steps to translate Australia's strong hydrogen research capability into a key pillar of the nation’s energy and export profile. It was developed with and supports the Australian Government’s Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy, and builds on CSIRO’s National Hydrogen Roadmap, which discusses commercial opportunities for hydrogen technology implementation.

National Hydrogen Roadmap: Pathways to an economically sustainable hydrogen industry in Australia
With the global hydrogen industry reaching a tipping point, CSIRO Futures, with support from CSIRO Energy, led the development of the National Hydrogen Roadmap. The primary objective of the Roadmap is to provide a blueprint for the development of a hydrogen industry in Australia.
With several activities already underway, the roadmap is designed to help inform the next investments of stakeholder groups, so that Australia's hydrogen industry can continue to scale in a coordinated manner.

Low Emissions Technology Roadmap
In 2016, CSIRO was engaged by the Australian Government to develop a Low Emissions Technology Roadmap to inform the 2017 Review of Climate Change Policies.
The Low Emissions Technology Roadmap provides an independent, science-based analysis of the technology options in the energy sector that can help Australia meet its 2030 emissions reduction target and create new opportunities for local industry.

Mining Equipment, Technology and Services: A Roadmap for unlocking future growth opportunities for Australia
Australia's Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector has an important role to play in the continued success of Australia's mining industry. However, its increasing dependence on specialist technologies and the impact of global mining megatrends, has created new opportunities and threats.
The METS Roadmap explores this changing business environment and identifies five opportunities where Australian METS companies can be internationally competitive: data-driven mining decisions, social and environmental sustainability, exploration under cover, advanced extraction, and mining automation and robotics.
