Providing engaging and relevant learning experiences in STEM subjects can be a challenge. Through STEM Professionals in Schools you can partner with a highly qualified STEM professional to increase your confidence, knowledge and skills in STEM and help you enrich learning experiences for your students.
Each partnership in the STEM Professionals in Schools program is a bespoke arrangement between the teacher and STEM professional, based on their combined interests and expertise, availability, local context, the Australian Curriculum, and student needs. Once partnered, you can work with your STEM professional to design engagements and activities that best support your teaching.
We have been creating and supporting partnerships for more than 10 years and have a national team available to provide guidance at every stage of your partnership.
Our independent evaluations have found that partnerships are effective in delivering benefits for teachers, students and STEM professionals. The most recent evaluation reported that the program provided significant benefits for teachers, including:
- improving their STEM teaching capability
- helping them to improve their students’ STEM learning
- providing them with professional learning and networking opportunities
