About the placement

This internship is with Orica and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

In this role, you will work on the development of a diagnostic device for wireless communications. This will involve improvements to the electronics and bench testing. You will also help create a housing for the device. You will help improve the device interface.

This role offers a unique chance to gain practical experience, improve your electronics skills, and contribute to our innovative and dynamic team.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: 2nd December 2024
  • Working arrangement: Full time hours on a casual contract December to February
  • Remuneration: $35/hour on a casual employment contract with Orica
  • Location: Kurri Kurri- Onsite

Desired capabilities

  • Currently studying an undergraduate degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics/Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent/related fields.
  • Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for various applications.
  • Implement and optimize digital signal processing algorithms for real-time applications.
  • Good understanding of signal and system analysis.
  • Develop and integrate instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electronic systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new and existing electronic products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and contribute to the team.

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
