About the Discovery Centre
CSIRO has made the decision to close the CSIRO Discovery Centre to school visits in 2025, after careful consideration and consultation with staff.
As Australia's national science agency, CSIRO has an imperative to engage the Australian community in science. Building Australia's STEM capability through transformative and empowering learning opportunities remains a critical focus for CSIRO.
To continue engaging the Australia community in science, a new virtual science activity - the CSIRO National Science Experiment - will be introduced during National Science Week 2025 (9-17 August 2025), and accessible to teachers, students and the community around Australia.
More information about the CSIRO National Science Experiment will be shared ahead of it's launch. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore our website and the other education activities CSIRO offers that reach over 100,000 students each year.
