Max McGuire: After the voyage give yourself some time to settle back into family life, to being at home and finding some quiet time for yourself. Many people experience a transition period after time at sea. Time away can build up expectations on both sides that may not meet reality when you’re back. So remember to acknowledge any feelings that might come up.
[Text appears: I miss the life at sea. I miss my ship mates. My family and friends don’t understand what I’ve experienced. I feel disconnected. I feel depressed. I feel withdrawn.]

If there’s been an incident with your health on board Investigator, the Voyage Operations Manager will follow up and check on your progress after the voyage. Once you’ve considered the contents of this training module please facilitate an open and honest conversation with your family and friends, then come back to this site to fill in the agreement page. You’ll need to do this before you can be granted access to Investigator. Thank you for completing this training. If you have any questions or concerns please contact your Chief Scientist, Principal Investigator or Voyage Manager.
