First NEAC research projects have started

The National Energy Analysis Centre has started two key projects to help us test and refine our offerings.

The Scenarios for Future Living project will see us recruiting the first 40 participants into the NEAC Living Lab. We have approved the ethical research and privacy approach of the project, and are ready to invite people into the lab over the next few months. If you are interested in being part of the research, you can find out more and express interest.

Meanwhile the Unlocking Investment in Energy Infrastructure for Net Zero Industrial Hubs project will use NEAC's MBSE model to support optimised net zero energy pathways for heavy industry.

Keeping up the dialogue
Last month we spoke to a broad audience of Engineers Australia members about the importance of an integrated systems approach that includes nuanced understanding and management of the demand side of the energy system. I was delighted to find so many people in the audience that were interested in NEAC's Living Lab!

On 28-29 May we will be sharing our NEAC building journey at SlashNEW, a conference in the Hunter for technology professionals. If you're attending the conference, please come and say hi.

How can Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) work?

CSIRO and Essential Energy are trialling V2G in a range of household scenarios including self-consumption, solar soak (using your own solar) and exporting vehicle power to the grid. We’re looking to demonstrate how EVs can help stabilise the grid, while allowing consumers to manage their own energy and be self-sufficient.
